Hello - I'm Lauren!
I'm guessing you want to know a bit about me...
I’ve been singing for as long as I can remember, and music is very much a part of who I am. From an early age, I was singing in choirs, in talent contests, and anywhere else I could belt out a tune, with or without an audience. I attended the BRIT School for Performing Arts, where I began to really nurture my love of singing, through classical, musical theatre and contemporary vocal coaching.
Fast forward a couple of decades, and I’m incredibly lucky to have had a wonderfully varied and fulfilling singing career so far. I’ve performed in some beautiful places around the world (UNESCO World Heritage site , at some prestigious venues, to audiences big and small, in person and on the telly. I’m a soprano in the MDL Singers, a contemporary choir of professional singers lead by internationally renowned vocal coach and choir director, Mark De-Lisser. I ran two community choirs for London-based group Singology Choirs, arranging for and leading weekly rehearsals and performances. I’ve been Lead Vocal Coach and Arranger for a European music industry workshop programme, in which budding young singers came together to further their skills in performance, recording and musicianship. I’ve been lead singer of a soul function band and of an acoustic duo, singing the soundtracks to countless weddings and events. I’ve written and recorded a long list of ‘library’ songs, many of which are available to stream on Spotify and other platforms. I’ve lead workshop programmes for children and young people in primary and secondary schools with music hubs around the country, and I’ve run corporate team building sessions, choir workshops and weekend masterclasses for adults. I’ve been a vocal coach offering one-to-one and group singing lessons. And, perhaps most notably, I’ve sang the same bedtime song to my 4- and 5-year-old sons every night since they were both born.
For me, singing is an intrinsic part of who we are as individuals, and a connecting force that brings people together. It’s self expression; it’s freedom; it’s joy and pain and all emotions in between. It’s an unlocker for anyone needing to build their confidence and overcome anxiety. It’s an outlet for anyone that’s feeling overwhelmed, overstimulated, or just a bit over it generally. It’s an energiser for anyone who’s down, and a release from any of the restrictions we all experience in day-to-day life. I honestly think it’s a form of therapy, and research backs me up - it’s proven to do great things for us physically, mentally, socially and everything-else-ally.
So, in short - I love to sing. I’m incredibly proud to have done so much with my voice. And I’d love to help you find and finesse your voice, too…
